In 2018, a group of poultry farmers got together to ask one question – can we produce a better chick for the Ontario market? Turns out, the answer was yes!

This consortium of farmers harnessed innovative European technology and created Trillium Hatchery. This 70,000 square foot hatchery in Stratford, Ontario provides immediate light, feed, and water for the chicks.

Today, Trillium Hatchery provides broiler chicks to commercial farms across South-Western Ontario. Using innovative technology, Trillium provides chicks with light, feed, and water immediately upon hatching, resulting in decreased stress and increased barn performance.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?  The egg. More specifically, a good egg. To produce a quality chick, one must start with a quality egg.  We pride ourselves in using the best eggs we can get, which produces the best chicks.

Feed, water and light is provided from day one for the hatching chicks.   Early feeding systems give the chicks a better start and have been proven to produce a healthier gut flora, which in turn speeds up their take-off time.

Our chicks are hatched, processed, vaccinated, and delivered in the same basket, which limits the stress on them. This helps ensure optimal resilience and performance for the life of the flock.
